I have been serving expectant and new families for over fifteen years and have only grown in my love for this work over that time. I began as a doula, childbirth educator and infant ASL instructor, earning certifications from DONA, PALS, ICEA and Sign2Me. I later moved into sleep consulting and birth consulting using an eclectic approach based on my extensive experience. I also offer infant parenting support through in-person classes or virtual coaching. My passion is enabling parents to embark on their birth and parenting journey with confidence and joy rather than uncertainty and fear. I seek to introduce my clients to strategies that are not only easily implemented but also customizable to match their priorities, philosophies and needs. Sleep consulting, birth consulting and infant parenting support are offered virtually, allowing you to receive assistance in the comfort of your own home. Infant parenting classes are in-person on the eastside.
Postpartum classes cover topics for moms, their partners, other caregivers and even baby!
In the Seattle area you can learn general parenting techniques (Infant Parenting Classes) or dive deep into subjects like infant safety (Car Seat Safety, CPR/First Aid), communicating with baby (Baby Sign), emotional and physical bonding with baby (Baby Yoga, Infant Massage, Mommy and Me Classes) and with your partner in your transition (Bringing Baby Home).
There are also classes specific to the practice and philosophy of Babywearing, Conscious Fathering and Cloth Diapering among others.

Lesli Desai is a Clinical Social Worker providing individual, couples, and family therapy. By encouraging curiosity and self-compassion, she works to empower clients – reaching out for help is a sign courage, not weakness. Courage can be defined as “the willingness to show up and risk being seen, without knowing what will happen” (Brene Brown). With courage, comes strength, hope, and authenticity--ultimately a life you can be proud to live.

We’ve all heard the generic recommendation for exercise in pregnancy, “Do what you’ve been doing and listen to your body.” Well, at Bodies for Birth, we believe and know we can do better.
People ask us what makes us different…we’ll tell you:
It’s the intentional program design, the childbirth education woven into every single class. It’s the village of friendship that grows week after week.
Ours is a powerful, loving community of strong mamas! If you’re ready to feel energized, strong and to gain fitness in pregnancy (yes, it’s possible!!), let’s get started! We welcome you to join us!

Our mission is to ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer.
Because drowning is the leading cause of death in children under the age of five, we begin teaching water safety survival skills to children as young as three months old and adults as old as ninety-nine.
First and foremost, we focus on the most important water survival skill: the back float. Back floating enables swimmers to rest, breathe and call for help, alleviating the "silent" danger of floating face down.
After mastering the back float, our swimmers begin learning swimming strokes. Children first learn to swim the length of the pool on their front and back; then strokes are introduced, followed by a focus on speed and stamina.
Workshops for love, marriage, and the baby carriage.
Classes and retreats that are mindfully aware that your transition is unique. Our workshops will address the practical, but also the emotional and relational factors involved in birth and early parenting. For couples who want to ground their relationship as well as to learn how to work together more harmoniously, toward a loving family.

At Northwest Hospital, our expert medical staff includes many providers who offer obstetric services, including obstetrician/gynecologists and midwives.
Motherhood is an incredible adventure, and your labor and delivery is just the beginning. As you begin your journey, we want you to know that our staff is here for you every step of the way. Our team has traveled this journey with mothers and families many times before, but we recognize that each family is special and your experience is unique.
Gentle Cesarean - A gentle cesarean enables you to share many of the same experiences as mothers who have non-cesarean births. Unlike a typical cesarean where a mother is unable to see her baby until after the delivery, we offer you the opportunity to witness the moment of your baby’s birth through a clear drape, and to have skin-to-skin contact following the birth while still in the operating room.
Nitrous Oxide - In addition to other pain management options, we are pleased to offer nitrous oxide as another choice for pain relief during labor.
VBAC - Many mothers who have had previous cesarean births may want to have a vaginal delivery with their next child. The Northwest Hospital Childbirth Center is happy to support vaginal birth after cesarean, but we encourage you to speak with your provider to discuss the risks and benefits of this option, and to develop a birth plan that best meets your needs.
Neonatology - Northwest Hospital has neonatologists available 24 hours a day. The Childbirth Center at Northwest Hospital includes a Level II Special Care Nursery available for any infants who need additional care or observation.
LDRP - Northwest Hospital pioneered the concept of labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care in a single birthing suite. Today, our suites are designed to support your entire birth experience and ensure that you are able to share it with family and friends in whatever way you choose. Each suite is equipped with:
- Specially designed beds for laboring, recovery and rest
- 24-hour access to Jacuzzi tubs and suites equipped with either a Jacuzzi or full-size shower
- Fold-out beds for your support person
- Free wi-fi internet access
- Flat-screen TV
