General Postpartum Fitness
Every women is different and every body is different – and fortunately the Greater Seattle area has a range of classes that will suit every exercise need and preference.
You can find some specific classes elsewhere in the directory (e.g. boot camps, FIT4MOM classes, Postnatal yoga and specific Stroller Strides classes), and below you can find other classes that may also be of interest.
You should check with your primary care provider about when you are ready for exercise, as you may need to wait 6 or more weeks before engaging in strenuous exercise – and your routine may require modification if your pregnancy or birth led to muscular (e.g. diastasis) or skeletal conditions.

Our Mission - FIT4MOM helps moms make strides in fitness, motherhood and life.
We’ve all heard the generic recommendation for exercise in pregnancy, “Do what you’ve been doing and listen to your body.” Well, at Bodies for Birth, we believe and know we can do better.
People ask us what makes us different…we’ll tell you:
It’s the intentional program design, the childbirth education woven into every single class. It’s the specialized services that have been created based on exactly what the pregnant and postpartum body needs to feel it’s best. It’s our community of mamas who long to be active participants in their journey throughout motherhood–individuals seeking education, informed decision making and holistic wellness. It’s the village of friendship that grows week after week.
Ours is a powerful, loving community of strong mamas! If you’re ready to feel energized, strong and to gain fitness in pregnancy (yes, it’s possible!!), let’s get started! We welcome you to join us!
Our musculoskeletal system plays a big role in getting and staying pregnant, giving birth, and recovering afterwards. Posture Therapy is a way to get out of acute and chronic pain, improve overall alignment, balance and mobility through gentle corrective exercise. The exercises are personalized to your posture, your needs and your abilities. They can be done from the comfort of your own home. Your routines are designed to help you meet your goals and makes pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery easier.
Posture Therapy might be right for you if:
-you’re struggling to get pregnant and are worried your poor posture is a contributing factor
-you’re suffering from aches and pains during pregnancy and want to make your labor as quick and easy as possible
-you’re a new mom with aches and pains from carrying your newborn and breastfeeding in what are sometimes not-the-most-comfortable positions
-you have more than one child and feel like a jungle gym and think you have pain as a result
Courtney has been helping people get out of pain through Posture Therapy since 2011. She is an Egoscue Institute® certified Posture Analysis Specialist. She has worked/trained under the founder of the method, Pete Egoscue, at Egoscue Headquarters in Del Mar, CA. Meet Courtney in 60 seconds in her video headshot: http://bit.ly/
